Organization: Dress a Girl & Sew a Sundress or Sanitary Kit

Project:  Skilled Sewers Needed! Use Your Sewing Talents to Bless a Girl in Need.  Join us in creating sanitary kits and dresses that bring dignity, hope, and opportunity to impoverished girls around the world. Your gift of sewing can make a lasting difference in the life of a young girl.

1. Dresses: Sew dresses that will be delivered to young, impoverished girls around the world. Preferred sizes of dresses are 12 months to 8 years. The girls in the developing countries are slimmer than American children, so keep this in mind as you sew your dresses.
2. Sanitary Kits: Learn how to sew reusable/washable sanitary kits. These kits will be distributed by the Protecting Our Daughters (POD Project). The kits have given thousands of girls the ability to attend school, stay safe, and gain spiritual knowledge while offering hope for their future. 

• Sewing machine
• Sewing supplies, scissors and thread
• Lunch, snacks and water

• Tables, chairs
• Extension cords
• Fabric and patterns (both for dresses and sanitary kits)
• Irons and ironing boards
• Water refill

• New package(s) of underwear are greatly appreciated. Underwear sizes 2-12 girls, no cartoon or character prints.
• Large zip lock bags for packing finished dresses. Donate a box if you are able.
• Dark colored flannel for sanitary kits (high need!)
• T-shirts, plain solid colors or designs, no prints of characters (high need!)
