Ultimately, you will experience how biblically sound theology deepens your relationship with God and each other. GROUP LEADERS: Gloria and her husband started attending North Coast in 2010 and have been involved in Life Groups since 2015. In addition to being an accountant and property manager, Gloria is active in many community groups. She is also a big fan of Hallmark movies. Liz moved here from San Francisco in 2016. She enjoys the Soul Gospel venue and serves on the prayer team. Liz has a Ph.D. in microbiology and a master’s in Spanish literature. She has taught high school, been a nursing home administrator, and worked as a hospice chaplain.

This "sermon-based" study will be based on the previous weekend's message and built on a "Lecture-Lab" model. Think of the weekend message as a lecture on Christian living, and the group as a lab where you get to roll up your sleeves to discuss how the message works in real life. Each week there will be a series of questions and scripture on the back of the sermon note sheet to study before the meeting. It will usually take 20 to 40 minutes per week to complete this homework. GROUP LEADER: Linda Clark has been dedicated to Life Groups for over 10 years, fostering a vibrant community of believers committed to spiritual growth. GROUP LEADERS: Thirzie has been a member of North Coast for thirteen years and an Arise leader for five. She retired from the Oceanside School District and enjoyed traveling with her husband until his recent passing. She now devotes herself to friends and family and is grateful for their love and support. Pam joined North Coast in 1979 with her husband, Andy. Over the last three years, she has co-led an Arise group. Pam partnered with Andy through his five-year cancer treatment and has gained new empathy for those who have lost marriage partners or soulmates. Chris has been attending North Coast Church since 2006 and has a heart for building spaces where men can grow deeper in their faith and in relationship with one another. He has been married since 2005 and is a proud father of three—two sons and a daughter. Chris is self-employed and has owned and operated a manufacturing business for over 20 years. In his free time, he can usually be found riding dirt bikes, mountain biking, training in Jiu Jitsu, or enjoying time with his family. Tim has been attending North Coast Church since 1997. He and his wife have been married since 2001 and have three kids- 2 daughters and a son, who are all very involved with student ministries at NCC. Tim is self-employed with an online Amazon business as well as a welding construction company. During his free time, he enjoys camping with his family, especially going to the desert riding motorcycles and off-roading. His favorite activity is riding mountain bikes with his son in the local hills and helping coach his son's school MTB team. Edward and Cristina Arellano have been married for 18 years and are the parents of two sons, Eddie (10) and Jaxon (8). They have been part of the North Coast Church Vista community since 2023. As entrepreneurs, homeschooling parents, and an active family involved in local youth sports—including football, rugby, and baseball—they understand the demands of busy lives and the importance of intentional community. They feel called to open their home to others in order to build authentic relationships and grow together in their walk with Christ. This women's young adult group will be going through the book, "Relaxed," by Megan Fate Marshman. This book explores how to set aside the hurry and anxieties of life and walk with the One who gives peace. Emma has been at NCC since 2012. She is blessed to serve as the Associate Pastor for Elevate, the San Marcos/Escondido junior high ministry! Outside of church, she loves spending her free time reading, staying active, exploring new coffee shops, going to the beach, and listening to music. Looking forward to a fun and sweet life group quarter! Devyn has been at NCC since 2019, when she began college at Cal State San Marcos. Over the past six years, she has become increasingly involved at North Coast while going to school and playing and coaching soccer. She currently serves as a 7th grade girls Life Group Leader through Elevate JH at the SME campus and is preparing to graduate from CSUSM this May with a BSN and begin her career as a nurse. Jordan works in law enforcement and Sarah stays home with their three children a 5-year-old daughter, a 3-year-old daughter, and a 4-month-old son. Sarah also homeschools their oldest daughter. Sensus Plenoir is Latin for "wider meaning" and describes the deeper dive we take in looking not only at the scripture, but the history and cultural context at the time they were written. Our group has a cool dynamic being multigenerational - millennials to baby-boomers. We encourage hard questions and love the collective wisdom that comes from searching the scriptures together for answers. There's a whole lot of fellowship and relationships which sprout from that. We study whole books of the Bible. We have been through Acts, Exodus, Revelation, Ezekiel, Habakkuk and even Obadiah (to name a few). We are currently on a verse-by-verse journey through 2nd Peter. We will be reading through John Mark Comers' new book, Practicing the Way. This is a small men's group for those navigating the 2nd half of life (45-55) who desire a deeper connection with other men. We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus requires each of us to become his apprentice. Studying God's Word is exciting and new every time I dive in. Sharing and discussing it with others opens up questions and ideas that broaden what God wants us to know. I am not sure how "close" we will follow the entire outline suggested on the sermon notes, but it is a place to start. Sometimes it's important to the group to "peel back" a topic and not just check the boxes. Our group LOVES to play games and share meals together. Bob and Cyndi have developed a safe place for us to ask questions and challenge each other as we study God's word. Fran enjoys traveling, reading, listening to any kind of music, and cooking something new. She also does a lot of quilting, working with a small group that makes quilts for various charity donations, including Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and children's groups. Walks along the beach are always a favorite pastime, as well as gathering with their children and grandchildren, whenever possible. Tim enjoys bicycling, scuba diving, woodworking, community college teaching assistant, and landscaping. The Clepper's have been attending North Coast since 2005. Bob and Cyndi are an amazing couple that love traveling, comedy shows, movies, and reading. They are both retired from the Navy and love serving at North Coast, where they have attended since 2009.
